Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant
One area of clinical laboratory science is phlebotomy. Phlebotomist perform procedures that involve removing blood from a patient for lab work. Lab Assistants perform various tasks in the lab under the supervision of pathologists, medical laboratory technologists or combined laboratory and x-ray technologists.

Those who enjoy working with people or in a laboratory setting and have an interest in health care may find that becoming a PLA can lead to an interesting and rewarding career.
