CAIOMS's Limited Phlebotomy Technician and Certified Phlebotomy Technician I & II program modules are approved through the California Department of Public Health / Laboratory Field Services (CDPH / LFS). CAIOMS has achieved "serious applicant" status through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

The California Institute of Medical Science's application for approval to operate has not yet been reviewed by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). However, under the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 Section 94809 (c), CAIOMS is approved to operate.
